Hi, friends! My name is Angelica, and for whatever reason, I am absolutely fascinated by whatever the heck you might call “American food.” Whether it’sclassic dishes like Jell-O salads from way back whenorhyper-regional cuisine like the Rochester, New York garbage plate, I love learning about food all around the US.
All that being said, I’ve learned about a lot of tasty dishes from all50 states. And now, I’m on the hunt to learn about the absoluteworstdishes from each state. So, here’s my question for you — what’s the absolute worst regional US meal you’ve ever had? Whether it was from your home state or one you visited, we want to know A) what it was and B) where it comes from. Bonus points if you share a picture, too!
Perhaps you’ve tried Ohio Valley-style pizza,which recently went viral on TikTok, and simply could not get behind the cold ingredients making it basically an adult Lunchable.
Or maybe you feasted on a New England Boiled Dinner and were left a little underwhelmed (and had to go to the McDonald’s drive-thru on the way home).
Perhaps you were intrigued by the name and gave Frog Eye salad a go, but the acini di pepe, fruit, and marshmallow salad popular around Idaho and Utah was unlike anything you’d ever tried before (and not in a good way).
