Heidi has open up about the lasting impact of losing everything in the devastating wildfires .
Back in January,Spencer PrattandHeidi Montagwere among theCalifornians to lose their homein the devastating Pacific Palisades wildfire, with Spencer documenting much of his family’s ordeal on both Snapchat and TikTok at the time.
Spencer filmed the flames coming closer and closer to his family’s home, and tried to make light of the situation once they decided to evacuate. He filmed himself painstakingly wrapping expensive crystals as he joked to followers: “All fun and games having a thousand crystals until you’re packing them up because a fire’s coming around the corner, let me tell you.”
Just two hours after Spencer, Heidi, and the kids vacated the property, Spencer revealed that he was watching their house burn down via its security cameras, which were linked to his phone.
After this huge loss, Spencer made no secret of the fact that he was trying to make as much money as possible through social media to support his family, with the former reality star sharing hundreds of TikTok videos a day — and admitting in the footage that he was making all of them at least one minute long to be eligible for TikTok’s Creator Fund.
But unfortunately, Spencer and Heidi’s best efforts don’t appear to have been enough. In a new interview with theIndependent, Heidi said that she and Spencer are unlikely to keep the plot of land where their home once stood, as she also revealed that they are still having to pay a mortgage on the remains.
“They’re saying it’s gonna cost five million to rebuild the house that cost a third of that; we just don’t have the finances, and I’m not sure we can keep our lot because you still have to pay a mortgage on it,” she told the publication.
“I’m not sure what we’re going to be able to do,” Heidi went on. “I’m just trying to work as hard as I can, as much as I can, to be able to afford any type of house or down payment on something for our kids.”
