“ First of all , it ’s factual . We did all sing , hunky-dory ? What do you need from me ? ! ”

I think we’ve ALL seen that famousVictoria Justicememethat went viral in 2017.

The video in question features then-teenage Victoria beinginterviewedoutdoors with her fellowVictoriouscast members, including Ariana Grande, Liz Gillies, and Daniella Monet. When the group were asked which cast member sings the most outside of filming, and largely agreed that it was Ariana, Victoria — who played leading character Tori Vega on the hit Nickelodeon series — interjected and said, “I think we ALL sing.”

These five words became a widely-referenced meme online, with Victoria even addressing the buzz back in 2017. Shetweeted, “I think we ALL have better things 2 do than dredging up 7 yr old non-existent drama. That said, Im kind of excited to finally be a meme.”

The clipseemingly sparked a load of tensionbetween Ariana and Victoria, with the pair appearing toshadeeach other over the years. However, Victoria shut down the long-running feud rumors during a2023 interview.

“ This whole narrative that was created of me being envious of [ Ariana ] and us not being friends , ” she toldE ! News . “ I find like it ’s this constant tarradiddle of the media and people wanting to put hoi polloi against each other and it ’s just … so not even relevant in good order now . ”

“ This is so mute . Ten years later . How is this even a story ? This is so unintelligent , ” she added , revealing that she and Ariana had messaged each other privately about the untrue feud rumors .

Fast forward to today, and Victoria has reflected on the viral moment once again during a new appearance onMythical Kitchen’sLast Meals.

While reacting toonline praise, Victoria noted that it was “very nice” to see people being kind to her because for so long, she’d dealt with a lot of hate. “There was a time for so long on the internet where I felt like people hated me,” she said. “It can really be a ruthless place. And mob mentality is such a real thing.”

When asked what she thought prompted the “hate train,” Victoria mentioned the viral meme. Explaining that she was only “16 or 17” when the video was filmed, Victoria recalled feeling pretty confused by all the immense hate.

“First of all, it’s factual. We did all sing, OK? What do you want from me?! Speaking the facts,” she said.

“And then it’s like I got all this hate, SO much hate,” she said. “I’m like, ‘What did I do? What did I do?’ I’m sitting here living my life, just trying to work, live. It was wild.”

Victoria went on to recall receiving death threats over the entire thing. “I got so much hate, dude. I got death threats,” she said. “I felt bad for my mom, ‘cause she was looking at all this stuff online and she was freaking out.”

“It really took on a life of its own and became a thing,” she said, before adding: “Now I think it’s funny. I’m in on the joke. I even say it to myself all the time…It was definitely a thing where it was like, the internet hates Victoria Justice right now.”
