What a moo - ving piece of art .
One of my favorite little corners of Reddit is r/MaleLivingSpace, where men share photos of their homes (and their design choices). It’s a blend of hilariously sparse rooms, inspiring stories of people getting back on their feet, and the occasional tastefully designed room that makes you go, “Ooh, I should do that.”
However, one recent post made me laugh out loud as soon as I saw it, so I need to know what you think. The OP, elliottbaytrail, wrote, “Partner placed his polarizing art by our bedroom reading corner. I relocated it and revoked his decorating privilege.” This was the first photo I saw, and I was like,Where’s the art piece? I only see a guy by the window.
And then I scrolled and saw that THIS IS THE “ART.”
Yes, your eyes do not deceive you: That is a human-sized, anthropomorphic bull statue, looking out the window in a contemplative manner.
The OP decided that the statue shouldn’t be by the window (probably so as to avoid having a heart attack anytime he entered the room), so he moved it to the hallway, like this:
People felt like it changed the whole vibe of the statue.
I mean, I guess I understand, but I feel like if I was reading in that corner, I would have to keep looking up from my book to make sure the statue hadn’t moved.
And more than one person thought of that episode ofModern Familywith Jay’s dog butler statue.
(Here’s what that looked like, by the way. I see the resemblance.)
