Two people are dead and six hospitalized after a shooting atFlorida State Universityon Thursday. NBC News isreportingthat the suspect is the 20-year-old son of a sheriff’s deputy who had access to the deputy’s weapon.

As the aftermath of the shooting unfolded, an FSU student called out two people in particular during aninterview. The clip has 3 million views on X. “I’m gonna call on like, you know, Governor Ron DeSantis, the president, Donald Trump, for you know — this stuff keeps going on right?” the student posed.

In response to the video, people applauded the student. “God bless this kid for speaking truth,” this person said.

A lot of people discussed the kinds of reforms they’d like to see. “Start charging the parents equal to the charge the kid gets,” this person suggested.

“I’d propose slowing down access for people under 25,” this person said.

And many other people expressed frustration. “Then vote for people who will make some gun reforms,” this person said.

Reporters asked Donald Trump about the shooting, and hesaid, “These things are terrible. But the gun doesn’t do the shooting, the people do.”

“I have an obligation to protect the Second Amendment. I ran on the Second Amendment, among many other things, and I will always protect the Second Amendment.”

Gov. Ron DeSantissaidon X that. “Our prayers are with our FSU family.”
