The 2025Met Galahappened this week, with thetheme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,“which draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 bookSlaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The theme was also reflected in the dress code, “Tailored for You,” which encouraged guests to interpret the concept of dandyism and tailoring in their outfits this year.
There were so manygreat looks at this year’s gala— from women rockingincredible suitsto some of the men showing up instellar outfits(and leaving the plain, black suits behind) to just some jaw-dropping red carpet moments, like Diana Ross’s time on the famous Met Gala stairs, and more.
While there are so many Met Gala looks to discuss, the internet could not get enough ofJenna OrtegaandSabrina Carpenter. Not only did people love their actual Met Gala outfits, but their afterparty looks were what everyone was really talking about.
For the actual event, Jenna worea metallic dress made out of rulersby Olivier Rousteing for Balmain.
She paired the metallic dress with Old Hollywood-inspired waves in her hair by hair stylist Cesar Deleon Ramirez, a deep burgundy lip color, smoky gray eyeshadow, a silver necklace from Grown Brilliance, and earrings and rings by Hearts On Fire.
Meanwhile, Sabrina wore a burgundy bodysuit by Louis Vuitton andPharrell, who is the brand’s men’s creative director, paired with a pair of very high burgundy heels.
Speaking of the pantsless look, shetold Vogueon the red carpet, “[Pharrell] was like, ‘You’re quite short sono pantsfor you.’ So here we are. Here we are.”
After they each walked the red carpet, the duo met up inside the exclusive event, with photos of them quickly going viral on social media. Jenna notably starred in Sabrina’smusic video for “Taste"in 2024.
And then, they kept the party going after the Met Gala event by attending anafterpartytogether, with both doing an outfit change.
Sabrina traded in her burgundy bodysuit for another Louis Vuittonensemblethat included well-tailored black pants, white shirt, black tie, and an LV belt.
And Jenna went for a tuxedo-inspired bodysuit, complete with a gold flower broach and a vintage 1914 Tag Heuer pocket watch.
