Who doesn’t love a well-made Philly Cheesesteak?!
“Well-made” is the key word, here. We got to thinking and decided only people who arefromPhilly can throw together a cheesesteak and rate the best out the bunch. So that’s what we did!
We’ve got real Philadelphians to cook and rate each other’s Philly cheesesteaks, including Philly chef Derrick Hayes. Let’s see who comes out on top!
First up, we have Patrice, who’s cheesecake looks more like a hoagie.
She chose a hot dog roll, which is a little out of the ordinary, but let’s see what the others thought about it.
Colin and Jarabi were definitely feeling it! Patrice walks away with a 10.5.
Colin is up next. He’s made a completely unconventional mac and cheese Philly cheesesteak. We don’t know about this one…
Apparently neither does Jarabi and Patrice because home boy only got a combined score of 2. Damn.
Lastly, we have Jarabi. He’s made his cheesecake with an amarosa roll. Classic~
But wait, there’s more! We’ve decided to get Derrick Hayes, a well known Chef from Philly, to have the final vote on who wins!
After tasting all three sandwiches, including Colin’s, it seems he has made a decision!
Derrick loves Jabari’s rendition of a traditional Philly cheesesteak, and advises a better cut of beef. Nice—all Jabari has to do is buy some USDA Prime and she’ll be good!
Classic takes are the way to go because Jabari wins with a combined score of 19.7!
