We require to take heed your story …

Although American church attendance hasdeclinedin the past several decades, there has been a surprisinguptickin the number of individuals who attend “megachurches.” These churches often have thousands of congregants, more “contemporary” preaching styles, and services that feel theatrical rather than authentic. However, in recent years, many megachurches have becomeembroiledin scandals…

And no matter how devout a person may be, there comes a breaking point when they can no longer excuse their church’s behavior. Often, scandals or unsavory events within the church force congregants to examine their experiences, leading many to leave altogether:

Maybe you left when you realized the church was greedy? Perhaps they forced congregants to donate money or even shamed them for not donating as much as they “should” have?

Maybe they used these donations for unnecessary purchases or frivolous events instead of their alleged purposes?

Maybe politics had come into play in recent years, and you felt the church’s political “beliefs” didn’t align with your faith?

Maybe you felt services and sermons were focused on their theatrical value rather than the religious messages they were supposed to convey?

Maybe certain church members were power-hungry and held sway over the congregation and the values being taught?

Or perhaps the clergyliterallydidn’t practice what they preached? Maybe some scandals came to light that completely altered your view of those within the church?
