“When I look in the mirror, I don’t want the reminder of ‘Oh yeah, you were a fucking drug addict. Like, that’s why you have SpongeBob smoking a joint on your back.’ They should have meaning. Not just that I was high watchingGame of Thrones,” said Pete, who is now sober.

Severalinternet users have since commendedPete’s vulnerability. One person said, “There is such a stigma around addiction and mental health. I love that he is using his platform to discuss this when he doesn’t owe anyone an explanation,” while another added, “I admire his level of self awareness.”
