Katy Perryresponded to an Onion headline that joked she would soon release a song called “Stop Making Fun of Me.”

It hasn’t been the best year for Katy. Last summer, shereleasedthe female empowerment song “Woman’s World” — except people quickly noticed that it was produced by Dr. Luke, whoKeshahas famouslyaccusedof drugging and raping her (Dr. Luke has denied the allegations). Then, in September, there was a lackluster critical and commercial response to the ensuing album,143.

Last month, the singerwent viralfor her participation in a divisive all-female Blue Origin (the private space company owned by Jeff Bezos) flight. She addressed the hubbub on Tuesday, writingon Instagram, “When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed.”

“I’m not perfect, and I actually have omitted that word from my vocabulary, I’m on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but… I get back up and go on and continue to play the game and somehow through my battered and bruised adventure I keep looking to the light and in that light a new level UNLOCKS,” she continued, referencing the gaming theme of her Lifetimes Tour.

Amid all of this, the Onionsubsequently published a new parody article called, “Katy Perry Teases New Single ‘Stop Making Fun Of Me.'”

In the description, the satire outlet joked that Katy had said, “Working with Dr. Luke on my fav single in years—this is for the ladies out there who can’t catch a goddamn break even though they’re seriously trying their best.”

Perhaps one of the most surprising responses is that Katy herself “liked” the post:

She then commented, “This photo is clearly photoshopped I would never let my Botox go that long, do better The Onion!”

For what it’s worth, the photo is from aninterviewlast September and does not appear to have been edited.

Well, there’s always tomorrow. H/T:CommentsByCelebs.
