“ Let me be , I was n’t even there ! ”
As you may recall, this year’sMet Galatook place last week, and a whole bunch of A-listers were in attendance to show off their interpretation of the “Tailored for You” dress code, in association with the Met’sSuperfine: Tailoring Black Styletheme.
And, just like clockwork, the amateur fashion police of social media were on hand to critique each and every celeb’s look, with many being publicly chastised for their underwhelming outfits orlack of commitment to the theme. Sometimes even both.
One of the celebrities to feel the wrath of these critics wasBillie Eilish, who was dragged when photos of her on the red carpet emerged online. There’s just one problem… Billie didn’t actually attend this year’s Met Gala, and the pictures are completely fake.
This was arguably easy to work out, considering photos of Billie wearing totally different outfits at the event circulated, with one X post showing the singer in an oversized navy blazer adorned with large fake roses:

Meanwhile, a particularly viralTikTokincluded an image of Billie wearing a black corset and feather-trimmed miniskirt amid a compilation of real photos of celebrities who actually attended the gala:
But whichever look Billie was feeling the backlash from, she understandably had enough of the #FakeNews, and took to her Instagram story to set the record straight on Tuesday.
“Seeing people talk about what I wore to this year’s Met Gala being trash… I wasn’t there!” Billie began before bursting into laughter. “That’s AI! I had a show in Europe that night! Let me be, I wasn’t even there!”
