“ I require to holiday with the people that I desire to vacation with , and they ’re not your spouses . ”
Chelsea Handlerhas sparked a debate after she candidly stated that she is “done” going on vacation with her siblings’ partners.
Chelsea is also incredibly close with her siblings’ children. Back in 2017, she proudly posted a photo to Instagram with “all” of her nieces and nephews, though it’s not known if she has welcomed any more since. For reference, in 2017, she was an auntie to eight children.
And in June last year, Chelsea shared a selection of vacation snaps as she revealed that she had taken all of the kids on a trip that was gatecrashed by two of the adults.
Captioning the post at the time , the star write : “ I brought my niece and nephew on a children ’s ONLY misstep , except we had two adult interlopers who twist their style in and are also relate . Mi familia . ”
But despite the cool in - law breaker point that these trips inevitably earned her , Chelsea has now admitted that she is die to be more selective with who she vacations with in the future .
Speaking on Olivia Attwood’sSo Wrong It’s Rightpodcast, Chelsea matter-of-factly said: “I told my brothers and sisters this year that I’m done with their spouses. I’m like: ‘I don’t need to go on vacation with your spouses anymore,’ I didn’t marry these people.”
“I’ve extended my generosity for 25 years, I’ve brought all of your children and all of your spouses on vacations, multiple vacations a year for 25 years, and now I want to vacation with the people that I want to vacation with, and they’re not your spouses,” she went on. “I’m sure this is very relatable to people who also don’t enjoy traveling with their siblings’ spouses.”
But not everybody felt this way, with others agreeing with Chelsea, saying that they also value sibling-only time.
