Britney Spearsreacted to reports surrounding her recent in-flight behavior.
OnThursday, Britney lit a cigarette while flying from Cabo San Lucas to Los Angeles, violating federal aviation rules, perPeople. It was also reported that she had been drinking on the flight.
Britney extinguished the cigarette after flight attendants asked her to, but police were still called. On the ground, she was met by authorities, who warned her for smoking on the plane before she was released.
Britney addressed the situation on Instagram, saying she was unaware she couldn’t smoke on that particular plane. “Some planes I’ve been on you can’t smoke mostly but this one was different because the drink holders were on outside of seat !!!” she wrote alongside a video of her sitting on a private plane.
“[I] said I want a cigarette so bad !!!” she continued. “My friend put it in my mouth and lit 🔥 it up for me so I was like OH SO THIS IS A PLANE WHERE YOU CAN SMOKE !!!”
Now, Britney realizes that wasn’t the case, and she apologized to anyone she offended.
Meanwhile, a sourcetoldPeople: “This is not her first warning. She doesn’t exactly follow the rules.”
Luckily, this didn’t escalate any further. Don’t smoke on planes, people!
