" This calming presence came over me , and I affirm , my tears started streaking UP my boldness , as if someone was wiping them away . I believe it was his disembodied spirit , trying to comfort me . "

Recently, wesharedsome truly unexplainable real-life stories that still haunt the people they happened to years and years later. In response, members of theBuzzFeed Communityshared even more eerie things they’ve experienced. Here are their stories:

1.“Many years ago, my mother and I were sitting on the couch next to each other, having coffee, chatting away, and we could see out the large window to the front yard, which had steps coming up to the front door. I saw something, and I say something because it wasn’t a someone. It came up the stairs quickly, like it was going to knock on the door. It was long like a person, but like a dark shadow. No one knocked, no one was there. Mother saw it too because we turned and looked at each other and said, ‘Did you see that?’ at the same time.”

2.“My roommate, best friend, and I went to a hookah bar one evening. We were the only ones inside, except the two employees. When we left, there were downed trees, HUGE hail, and all the buildings were torn up. There was also no electricity. Almost a third of Walmart’s roof was in the parking lot next to us. The hookah bar was untouched and was the only business with power. A guy was in a parking lot looking at the damage. We asked him what happened, and he looked at us like we were crazy.”

" He say a tornado bear on down and asked how we did n’t pick up it . The three of us heard , matt-up , and saw nothing . From my surmise , the employee also recognise nothing . It had been perfectly quiet inside . It ’s like we had clock time distort . That ’s the only way I can describe it .

3.“My son is part of a Native American tribe. My husband and I were at a Sundance ceremony. The ceremony had ended for the evening. We were standing there looking out across the empty field where children were playing on the far side of a fence. All of a sudden, I saw a HUGE white wolf creeping along the fence line. Huge, like horse-sized. I blinked and it was gone. I turned to my husband and asked him if he saw that. He said yes. And asked what it was. We were both shocked that it was there and then not there. My son said they don’t acknowledge that kind of manifestation.”

4.“I was driving an old ass Toyota pickup. Rush hour, downtown Seattle, so a random break slam happens, everyone behind them has to do the same, me included. I hit the brakes, and the truck slides (as one does with no antilock brakes). I rear-ended the person in front of me, and badly, too. We lock eyes in her rear view and we’re both like well shit. Then… NOT FUCKING KIDDING my old Toyota truck and her car both turn into one and this energetic visual dot like thing happens, no other way to describe it, where our two cars separate or rather an atom detanglement (yes made up word) kind of thing happens.”

5.“When I was 6 or so, I found a fossil on the beach in Rehoboth — it was like a rock that had cracked in two, and the fossil was in the middle, but I had only found one half of the rock, and I took it home with me. 10 years later, in a different state, I was telling my friend about vacationing in Rehoboth, and she said she used to go there on vacation too. I showed her the fossil — as it turned out, she had also found one - and it was the second half of the one I had found. Fit together perfectly. Blew my mind.”

6.“I had a repeated nightmare for many years depicting a version of myself that was verbally mean. It woke me up screaming and sobbing. Fast forward 30 years, I’m stuck in an awful relationship where I took out my pain and anger on someone else. One day, while saying something nasty, I stopped dead in my tracks and realized I had become my nightmare. It made me think I was given this future knowledge as a warning and a chance to do it differently this time around.”

7.“I was at a friend’s house watching a movie, and while we were sitting there in the living room, a framed picture fell crashing off the wall and behind the chest of drawers below it. It sounded like the glass broke, so we got up to sweep it up, as my friend had a few pets and didn’t want them stepping on glass. The framed picture was gone. Just… gone. We searched everywhere. He never found it, even when he packed up to move a few months later. I think sometimes stuff just vanishes into another dimension or something.”

8.“This was in the mid-90s (way before anyone privately owned drones). I was driving home from a college friend’s house around 10 in the evening. We were playing video games and just hanging out. He lived right near the college, and I lived about 45 minutes away in a small town. To get to my place, you took a proper highway. I was on a bridge crossing a river just outside my town when a ball of light, going super fast, flew up the river and went across the road in front of and above my car. The car’s electrical system dies, and everything goes black; every hair on my body stood straight up.”

" I pushed in the clutch and released it , and the railroad car restarted , and I get off at my passing a few hundred foundation further up the route , shaking like a folio . There is no way that anything could have travelled at that speed up the river and gone across the thug at that slant while I was give out 110 KPH . The physics were impossible , the river is n’t that all-encompassing so it all fall out within a second . Freaky stuff and nonsense … "

9.“A couple of years ago, I took my 7-year-old daughter to Tenerife on holiday. She was really excited to swim in the sea and use her new goggles, which were really cool with holographic lenses — quite unique and very distinctive. We travelled about half an hour to a beach and spent a great day swimming in the sea. The goggles were a hit, and she loved being able to see underwater. In the cab on the way back, she suddenly realised she’d left her goggles in the sand. Floods of tears.”

" I did n’t want to go back as we were already by the hotel , and I prognosticate her I ’d buy her a newfangled yoke as soon as we found a shop . We launch the door to the hotel elbow room … And there on the bed , covered in guts , were her goggles . How the real fuck that happened , I have no idea . "

10.“When my husband and I were first married, we bought a Victorian house built in the early 1900s. My husband is a swimmer and gets up every morning at 5 o’clock to go to the pool. One morning, I woke up around 7:30. I was facing the outside of the bed, and I could feel the weight and the warmth of my husband next to me. I remember I thought to myself he decided not to go swim this morning, and turned over to ask him why, and there was no one there. I jumped out of bed, ran to the bedroom door, and stood there, staring at the bed, completely freaked out. To this day, I know there was something lying in that bed next to me.”

11.“I perfectly described my mother’s first and only trip to Canada during a random conversation. She looked startled and asked how I knew those details (the way the truck looked, what she was wearing, etc.). I told her that just because I was a little kid doesn’t mean I couldn’t remember. She told me there’s no way I should know those things. I wasn’t born. She said she’d just found out she was three months pregnant with me. I was in utero. It doesn’t make sense because no one ever told me about the trip, and there weren’t any photos. I literally see it perfectly in my mind, but I wasn’t born.”

12.“This was back when I was in high school, but one night I was sleeping and had a dream that I woke up to the sound of the doorbell going off. I remember in my dream, opening my eyes and looking at the digital clock on my nightstand, reading 3:04 a.m. I got out of bed and out onto the landing of our stairs. My dad’s bedroom was right at the top of the stairs. He rushes out in his underwear (top tier pjs) and angrily curses, ‘God damn, your stupid friends.’ He rushes down the stairs, and I watch from the top as my dad opens the front door. A gunshot goes off, and my dad falls to the floor. The dream ends, and I’m startled awake.”

" No longer dreaming , I hear the bell go off . I turn to my clock and see it say 3:04 a.m. I bucket along out of my room and my dad is fall out of his room , cursing , ' God damn , your stupefied acquaintance . ' He goes to move down the steps , but I stop him . I tell him to leave it alone and go back to seam . He listens . I think my ambition was a warning , and I ’m so glad my dad listened that night . 13.“Years ago, I would always hear someone walking around in the middle of the night in the hallway outside my room. I have always had trouble sleeping, so this would happen around 2 a.m. most nights. It sounded like someone was walking around with dress shoes on (like heels). They were heavy footsteps, and they would go back and forth in the hallway outside my room. I would ask my dad and my siblings, but they said it was not them. Even if it was, I would have heard their doors open and close, but I never did. Then one day I was home alone.”

14.“I was in 5th grade in 2001, and on September 10, I had a horrible feeling that something bad was going to happen. I always had a little bit of anxiety, but had never felt something that came close to this level of panic. At one point, the fear became so overwhelming that I told my teacher that there was going to be an explosion or fire or something awful happening soon. She was actually pretty receptive and helped me calm down a bit, and said everything was going to be okay.”

" Obviously , the next day was September 11 and the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon . My teacher , who inexplicably let us watch the news unfold on television , pulled me aside before I went home that day to say she believed me when I was saying what I felt yesterday . seemingly , she tell apart my parent she thought I was an ' indigotin child ' at their parent - teacher conference . I ’m still not 100 % sure what that means or if what I was feeling was the impending plan of attack , but it still weirds me out to this Clarence Day . "

15.“I was stopped at a red light, looking across at a restaurant, and two people were walking into the restaurant. The door opened at the restaurant, and someone came out, but the two people who were walking in didn’t go in. They started mechanically walking backward in the same rhythm as they’d been walking forward. I did a double-take seeing this, and tried to look over at the car next to me to see if they happened to be seeing this too, but then the light turned green. When I pulled away, they were still walking backward, and the weird reversal thing was apparently spreading, and others were now also leaving the same restaurant in a similar manner.”

16.“I was house hopping post graduation to kill time in the summer until my return to Philly to go back to get another degree. I stayed with a friend who still lived in this small city. She lived in an apartment with other girls above a florist. There was one night when I woke up in the middle of the night and had to pee. Since I hardly knew where all the lights were and didn’t want to wake anyone who was home, I staggered myself to the bathroom. Walking into the hallway, about to turn into the bathroom, I see a girl with her back turned.”

17.“This story was told to me by my mom, as I have no memory of it. I was three years old and getting ready for bed in my room. My mom could hear me talking, but didn’t think anything of it. My mom came in and took down a new book she had just bought me that morning for my bedtime story. I told her I already had my bedtime story read to me by Aunt Susan (who I was very close with). My mom said that’s silly, as Aunt Susan was inNew York(we lived in the DC area at the time).”

" But I insisted and even state my mammy what the story was about , which she encounter untune because A. It was a make new Good Book and I could n’t read it yet , and B. I never went to bed without a bedtime story . after that dark , my mom got a call that my Aunt Susan had died the day before . My ma has always been convinced that her baby came back to read me my bedtime story . "

18.“All my friends would hang out in my basement in our late teens. One time, my girlfriend and I were hanging out there around 2 a.m. when we felt/heard/saw this light from behind us. We turned around and there was a floating light in the middle of the room that was SO bright, it was literally making noise. It then ZIPPED closed into thin air. Weeks later, I was in the basement with my brother and brought up the occurrence and he was laughing at me, when it happened AGAIN for him to see. This bright, noisy light hovered in the air in the BASEMENT, then audibly zipped closed. My brother is a very science-based person and could not understand this. So glad he saw it!”

19.And finally, “My parents bought our house before I was even born, pretty cheap, and spent money on home improvement loans because the house had been through a fire, but was still pretty structurally sound. I had always sensed some kind of presence in my bedroom, never bad, always benign, just…there. I was never afraid of it. When I was in middle school, my parents explained the fire. The previous family had a terminally ill 20-year-oldish son who smoked weed to ease his pain.”
