President Donald Trumpon Sunday called for “maximum fines and punishment” against CBS and its corporate parent, Paramount, over Sunday night’s60 Minutesbroadcast.
In two separate posts on his Truth Social website , Trumpcomplainedabout the show ’s interview with then - Vice PresidentKamala Harrislast year ― which he issuingthe ship’s company over ― andrailed againstSunday dark ’s report on Greenland and the war in Ukraine .
He urged FCC Chair Brendan Carr , who wasnamed to the positionby Trump , to deliver “ substantial ” penalties to the web for what he called “ unconventional and illegal demeanor . ”
“ CBS is out of control , at levels never seen before , and they should pay a big price for this , ” he wrote .
TheUkraine segmentfeatured an interview with the nation ’s Chief Executive , Volodymyr Zelenskyy , by letter writer Scott Pelley . Pelley noted that Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine “ straight off ” and before even taking berth , which did not bump .
Pelley asked Zelenskyy about Trump ’s untrue claim that Ukrainestartedthe war , and that Zelenskyy is a “ dictator . ”
“ I believe , sadly , Russian narratives are triumph in the U.S. , ” Zelenskyy said .
