Bruce Springsteenwent viralthis week for going off onDonald Trumpduring the first stop of his tour in Manchester.
Bruce said: “The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock and roll in dangerous times. In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration. Tonight we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experiment to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism, and let freedom ring!”
Fans were into it. I mean, Bruce has been VERY clear about his politics for literal decades.
But one person heard about it and it really, really set him off.
In between posting aboutTaylor Swiftnot being “HOT,” Trump took a pause and went for Springsteen.
Here’s what he said:
Some highlights from the rant include Trump calling Bruce “not a talented guy,” he said “Springsteen is ‘dumb as a rock,'” and then there’s this: “This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country.”
Yeahhhhh, now let’s look at some reactions.
“A president threatening a musician is normal behavior right?” this person asked.
Another person said, “jersey just got even bluer. no one comes for the boss.”
We have this person asking, “Republicans, this is your king?”
And finally, this person is pointing out that Donald Trump is only three years older than Bruce.
