We ’re in the studio , but the vibes are straight Ghana . This week ’s episode is all about Red Red — a Greco-Roman Ghanaian dish — and we ’ve got three dissenter repping their own takes on it : Nadou , Vic , and Gloria .

Canned Beans, Air-Fried Plantains, And Questionable Casting: Get Into This Red Red Competition

They each step into the kitchen , dish aerial in hand , ready to exact the title of Red Red cognoscente .

The lineup is full of savor before the cooking even starts .

Vic ’s Ghana - born and LA - based . Nadou ’s Togolese by birth , Ghanaian by blood . And Gloria ?

Ghanaian - born , but elicit in … Scotland .

Yeah , I had to break too . disgraceful family in Scotland ? Apparently , yes . And she ’s here to show what her Scottish - Ghanese combo can bring to the stew corporation .

For those unfamiliar , Vic broke down what Red Red is .

It ’s a robust tomato - based swither prepare down with onions and contraband - eyed pea plant , often pair with plantains and Timothy Miles Bindon Rice . Naodu insists garri — dry out cassava — is a must - have addition .

Gloria croak first , take out up with yellow-bellied plantains , can beans , an avocado on the side , and a sprinkle of garri on top of her stew .

Vegetarian , vegan - friendly , but still full of flavour thanks to her secret weapon : shito .

That ’s the spicy , smoky condiment from Ghana made with dried fish and peppers — a flavour bomb calorimeter . Visually , the plate had me quick to adventure it all and dive through the sieve .

But the taste test ? Not so genial .

Vic wasted no sentence taper out the canned beans .

He was n’t impressed , and Nadou echoed the same .

Vic also said the fret had too much crude , and Nadou was n’t feel the garri — said it had a “ arenaceous texture . ”

Vic kept it blunt : he did n’t like anything on the plate and questioned the deficiency of meat . Safe to say Gloria ’s saucer did not win over the crowd .

last score : 10

Then came Nadou . And hear , how she made it here is a mystery story in itself .

Sis had to ring - a - supporter to picture out the formula — literally .

Admitted she does n’t like cooking , but here she is in a cooking competition . Make it make sense .

Someone needs to lapse me the cast off canvas next prison term .

She pulled up with laurel wreath crude , garlic , peppers , curry , and a splash of peanut butter — plus fried plantains and boiled eggs on the side .

Presentation - wise , Vic and Gloria were genial . They liked the expression and texture . But once they tasted it ? The vibes switch over . Vic said it smelled like cow ’s base . Gloria found it mushy , and Vic legit spit it out . The palm oil was doing the most and not in a good way . The only thing they wish was the egg .

Final musical score : 7

Last up : Vic , who ’s been the loudest critic all installment .

Now it ’s his turn to show us how it ’s really done .

He aviation - fried his plantains , went with a mix of white and yellow rice , and dish up a swither with black - eyed pea , tomato plant , curry pulverisation , curt ribs , and maggi cubes — which , by the way , are a raw material in African ravisher but hard to find in LA ( give thanks God for Amazon ) .

The lady did n’t hold back .

Gloria come for the rice , require if it even belonged on the plate .

Nadou say it was just “ okay . ” sapidity - wise ?

Gloria said it was “ uneventful , ” and Nadou called it “ one - dimensional . ” The military personnel who hang back everyone else got dragged right back . They chewed through the critiques — and him .

Final score : 9

Gloria walks away with the crown , and honestly , from what I see , she make it .

While I go find someone who in reality know how to make Red Red properly , do yourself a favour and check out this episode .
