" Everyone I live is bribe Canadian ( or anything but American ) , and they ’ve canceled all vacation plans to the States . "

As you’ve probably heard or read, there is a growing trend among Canadians toboycottUS products. Of course, all of this has been fueled by recent political tensions between the US and Canada, including tariff disputes and controversial remarks from President Trump — who, among other things, keeps saying he wants to make Canada the 51st state.

1.“I’m a dual citizen living in Canada (my wife and kids are not American), and we’ve told my family in the States we’re holding off visiting for the foreseeable future, but they’re welcome to come visit us.”

— speshalke

2.“Canadian here. I was a teen until recently, and I was a strong vocal proponent of buying North American. I’ve only purchased North American vehicles so far. I used to visit/vacation in the USA a few times a year, but that is over. Now, I have a four-tier system. The first tier is buying Canadian, especially locally made, if possible. Second-tier buying is from allies of Canada that have relatable regulations, including those of the EU, UK, Australia, Japan, Korea, etc. The third tier is anywhere else other than the USA. And fourth tier: USA.”

3.“Switched from bourbon to Japanese whiskies like Suntory and Nikka. The idiots who support this clown will never admit they were wrong or anything, but they will at least feel the consequences of their actions for the first time. I don’t want to hear anything about bailouts, etc., either.”

4.“I attended a marketing conference this week with several Canadian entities in attendance. They advised the group: Don’t waste money trying to market to Canadians as a US company. They have never seen such a galvanized anti-USA sentiment, ever. There is no feasible timeline to expect any of this to change. They wanted to learn as much as possible about which destinations were GOP controlled and which weren’t so they could advise more surgical boycotts.”

5.“Buying a used item already on the shelf. My front door lockset broke and the mechanism does not function and cannot be repaired. I am going to a used building supply place before buying anything made in America, or through Amazon or an American chain hardware store. Not a chance will I buy American. I will leave it broken if I can’t find a non-American replacement. I can manage with it the way it is.”

6.“Consumers may wait longer before replacing their devices. Having the latest and greatest iPhone is less of a flex when sentiments about American companies like Apple are low.”

— NDSU

7.“The new goal should be to sustain this long enough so that market demand can give rise to new Canadian businesses and products. Over time, there will be fewer and fewer items, and the choice is to buy American or not at all.”

— Hemlochs

8.“I’ve rejected cheap California produce many times over the last few weeks. It’s a damn shame what America has allowed its leadership to get away with.”

— sunnyspiders

9.“I have no idea why I’m still seeing American lettuce or strawberries in my local stores. nobody’s touching them if they say USA.”

— dolphin_spit

10.“Everyone I know is buying Canadian (or anything but American), and they’ve canceled all vacation plans to the States. Most people I’ve talked to have sworn off ever buying from or traveling to the US ever again and wouldn’t change their minds even if the policies were reversed tomorrow.”

" We do n’t give a shit about the tariffs — this is about our reign . We fuck Canada ’s in for a rough ride no matter what , and we ’re ready to brave out it together . I ’ve never see Canada so united , and it ’s unbelievable to witness . "

12.“Buddy, I even canceled my US services. Netflix, Prime, and YouTube Premium — all terminated. Fuckers got me to resubscribe to cable, lmao. This shit is real.”

— Wildest12

13.“I used to avoid American produce because it was poor quality. But now I avoid American products overall. Took a while to find alternatives to stuff like disinfectant wipes, dryer sheets, and other stuff like that, but we managed.”

— zedemer

14.“I’m not the type to jump onto boycott bandwagons, but this is one I’m totally here for. A while back I needed tartar sauce, but they only had Heinz, so I made it from scratch. Turned out great.”

— FrankensteinsPonster

15.“My 6-year-old is on board. She asked me the other day if ice cream is from the US. She was very relieved to find out the ice cream we buy is made here, in Canada. Chapman’s, btw. Try ‘The Only Chocolate.’ It’s life-changing.”

— JoanOfArctic

16.“My 70-year-old parents canceled their $20,000 (!!!) cruise because it was using an American port, and they didn’t want to go to the USA. These people are not political, but even they are doing the boycott”

— Redditisavirusiknow

17.“My grocery bill is like 20% higher because we are not buying American goods right now. Really can’t wait for the garden to start producing, lol. Walking past the strawberries on sale to pick up the ones that are full price really hurts, but we’re committed to the best of our ability to seeing this through.”

" We also scratch design tripper . Golf wo n’t be down in the south this twelvemonth , it ’ll be a crossbreed province spell . Family in the D.C. area , which is an annual trip ? GTFO , you could come to Winnipeg if you want to see us this yr . NFL trip with my brothers ? axe . We ’ll go with child at the CFL championship instead .

Even bought my SO an ' elbow Up ' thymine - shirt as she ’s the one drive this boycott bus . lol . "

— bidetseeker

19.“I am boycotting everything and anything that supports Trump and MAGA. "

— Electrical_Room5091

20.And lastly, “I am — and even when this BS goes away — will continue to purchase Canadian-owned and manufactured products. #NotTurningBackTotal eye-opener to me just how many products I thought were Canadian but weren’t. Read labels and investigate companies online. Worth the effort.”
