" Just odd , what ’s the duty on a $ 400 million super acid from Qatar ? "

On Sunday, ABC News reported that President Donald Trump was going to accept aluxurious Boeing 747-8 jumbo jetas a gift from the royal family of Qatar. The “flying palace” would serve as the new Air Force One and would then be transferred to Trump’s presidential library foundation after he leaves office.

For background, the current Air Force One fleet is over30 years old, and, in 2015, President Obama set aside funds to replace the planes (withBoeinglater winning the contract for it). However, as thissitepoints out, it’s not as easy as just buying a plane, as Air Force One must serve not only as a flying White House, but also has to be able to do things like evade missile strikes and withstand a nuclear blast.

After the news broke that he was accepting the plane, Trump took to his social media site to confirm that it was true.

Needless to say, this has all been met with major backlash, with everyone from politicians to journalists pointing out that this could be seen as abribe, and that there are huge security concerns andcostswith accepting the plane. Even some of Trump’s mostardent supportersare against it.

With so many thoughts on the whole thing, I decided to round up some of the best and most on-point Twitter (X) reactions to Trump’s $400 million gifted plane:
