Who will win the bragging rights ? !
Today we’re guessing caribbean dishes. Three panelists—all black—will taste and try to guess a host of meals hailing from the West Indies.
Everyone will receive one point for the correct country and another for the correct name of the dish. The person with the most points wins!
Let’s get started! We started out slow and gave our panelists Jamaican beef patties while they were blindfolded. This should be easy…right?
Homegirl really said “hotpocket.” Close, but no cigar!
Some folks gave up immediately, but our boy Isiah was the only one who guessed correctly. Shout out to his Golden Crust education.
Triana wasn’t even sure if what she was eating was beef or squash.
Isiah is currently in the lead with 2 points! Onto the next dish—smashed green plantain from Haiti.
Do you know how many Caribbean countries have mashed and fried green plantains?? Damn near all of them. This is definitely a set up.
Isiah got a point immediately. His nose is primed to the plaintain.
The girls are currently thinking it’s a fruit or veggie, but can’t pinpoint which one.
OMG! Lauren saying it’s not plantain! She’s so close. Go with your gut, babes!
As expected, everyone guessed plantain. It’s such an iconic starch. Isiah gets two points for correctly guessing the country, so he’s currently in the lead.
The last dish the group will guess is fry jack and rice from Belize.
No one could figure out what fry jack was or what country it hailed from, but the trio DID correctly guess the rice and beans.
But Isiah takes the win with 5 points!
