If you’ve been keeping up with the Beckhams on social media over the past month or so, you may have noticed that something seems a little…off.
For context,David Beckhamturned 50 on May 2, but, being the icon that he is, the retired soccer star got the celebrations started over a month ago and hosted the first of three separate birthday parties back in March.
OnMarch 31, David uploaded a batch of snaps from the first party in Miami on his Instagram, where the attendees included the likes ofTom Brady, Lionel Messi, and Shaquille O’Neal. Notably, the first pictures of the post were of David’s immediate family, with the exception of his oldest son, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
If you follow either David or Victoria on Instagram, you’ll know that if they ever post a family picture without one of their four kids, they’ll often make a point of writing something along the lines of “missing you, Brooklyn” in the caption, as seenhereandhere. However, David’s Miami birthday caption made no mention of Brooklyn and Nicola’s absence, which certainly raised eyebrows.
Fast-forward to last week, and David hosted his second birthday celebration, this time, opting for a more intimate dinner. Similar to the first bash, David and Victoria both posted a ton of photographs in ajoint post on IG, and — you guessed it — neither Brooklyn nor Nicola were anywhere to be seen. Yet again, there was no mention of the absences in the caption. And if that wasn’t weird enough, Brooklyn and Nicola were also no-shows at David’sthirdbirthdayparty in London, which was attended by stars likeTom Cruise,Gordon Ramsay, andEva Longoria.
By this point, fans online (me included) had started wondering what was going on, with rumors of a feud between theBeckham brothersbubbling up online. And now, amid increasing speculation, an insider has spoken out about the alleged family drama.
“There are tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and the family,” a source toldPeoplethis week, claiming that the couple were indeed invited to David’s birthday celebrations and that “the relationship is definitely not beyond repair.” “They love and are always there for him. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life.”
This isn’t the first time that Brooklyn and Nicola have been rumored to beat oddswith the rest of the Beckhams. Around the time of their lavish wedding in 2022, it was speculated that Nicola had been involved in some kind of bigfallout with her in-laws, which she later denied, suggesting that the rumors may have stemmed from the fact that she didn’t wear a Victoria Beckham-designed wedding dress.
Since then, Brooklyn and Nicola appear to have maintained aclose relationshipwith his family — however, it sounds like things may have changed in the past couple of months. As it stands, none of the Beckhams have addressed the rumors of a rift, but we’ll be sure to let you know if they do.
