All this and still no explanation for the mysterious hole in his sweater …
For decades, headlines about Bill Belichick were focused on hisNFLcoaching career,Tom Brady, and theirSuper Bowl triumphs. But in 2025, the chatter has switched over to his personal life — namely, his relationship with 24-year-oldJordon Hudson.
73-year-old Bill was first linked with Jordon at the start of 2023, and since then, there’s been a lot of chatter about the public nature of their romance, particularly Jordon’sclose involvementin his professional life. And while the pair have been subject to criticism of their49-year age gapfor some time, speculation about their relationship seriously ramped up this week following the broadcast of anawkward CBS interview.
Appearing onCBS Sunday Morningon April 27, Bill sat down with Tony Dokoupil to promote his upcoming book,The Art of Winning: Lessons from a Life in Football. Despite not being directly involved in the interview, Jordon was described as a “constant presence” in the conversation and reportedly madenumerous interjectionsfrom the sidelines.
As you may have seen, CBS decided to air one of these interruptions, which came about after Tony asked Bill how he and Jordon met. “We’re not talking about this,” Jordon said sternly, speaking off-camera from a production table. Tony attempted to clarify, before saying on the voiceover: “It’s a topic neither one of them is comfortable commenting on.”
The moment was incredibly awkward, and in turn, people online couldn’t help but comment on the seeminglyodd and controlling dynamic. And now, with clips of the tense exchange stillgoing viral, Bill has issued a statement denying that Jordon was “attempting to control the conversation.”
In astatement, sent via email through his current employer, the University of North Carolina, Bill said that he only agreed to the publicity interview on the strict condition that the conversation would “focus solely on the contents” of his new book. “Unfortunately, that expectation was not honored during the interview,” he said, adding that the mention of his personal life came as a shock.
The decision not to answer questions about how they met certainly raised eyebrows among viewers; however, Bill set the record straight, explaining why Jordon chose to interject in that moment. “She was not deflecting any specific question or topic but simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track,” he said. “Some of the clips make it appear as though we were avoiding the question of how we met, but we have been open about the fact that Jordon and I met on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021.”
Calling out CBS, he continued: “The final eight-minute segment does not reflect the productive 35-minute conversation we had, which covered a wide range of topics related to my career. Instead, it presents selectively edited clips and stills from just a few minutes of the interview to suggest a false narrative — that Jordon was attempting to control the conversation — which is simply not true.”
Well , if the consultation was n’t unenviable enough already , this just made thing even weirder . you could see Bill ’s fullCBS Sunday Morningsegment here .
