Aamir Khanis making his comeback after 3 years withSitaare Zameen Par, a film we have been curious about for a lonnggg time.
Considered a ‘spiritual successor’ ofTaare Zameen Par,this film follows an arrogant basketball coach (Aamir Khan) who has to train adults with intellectual disabilites, as part of his community service.
The trailer drop on 13th May and immediately started trending to # 1 on YouTube .
Fans are particularly thrilled about theinclusivitythey see in the trailer, as it stars actors with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Some userscommentedon the trailer, saying,“I have never ever thought that our Indian cinema will ever produce a movie of such concept having real specially abled kids as the core content. I’m a father of an autistic son who just turned 10 years old about a couple of months ago and I can’t control my tears after watching this trailer. I really hope this movie works big time and gives hope to a lot of parents across the world to be positive and hopeful about their specially abled kid… Thank you Mr. Aamir Khan sir for bringing this."[sic]

However, some people have criticized the film, drawing similarities with the2022Woody Harrelsonfilm,Champions.
Though , as per the film’sIMDBpage , Sitaare Zameen Paris an adjustment of the 2018 Spanish filmCampeones ( Champion),on which the 2022 movie has been made .
Redditors have been trolling the film for ‘lack of originality’, drawing scene-by-scene comparisons between the two films.

Regardless,Sitaare Zameen Parupholds the job of representing people with intellectual disabilities in a real way, highlighting their talents. And this is something Bollywood has been waiting for!
The film is slated for a theatrical release on 20th June 2025.
