Now, as Bill promotes the release of his new book,The Art of Winning: Lessons from a Life in Football, a recent interaction between the couple and a CBS News journalist has raised eyebrows, to say the least.
Appearing onCBS Sunday Morningon April 27, Bill sat down to discuss his book and was notably accompanied by Jordon, who was seated at a production table just out of shot, similar to where a publicist or manager might position themselves during a press interview. It’s not out of the ordinary for someone from a celebrity’s inner circle to be present for an interview like this, but what is unusual is that Jordon was described as a “constant presence” during their conversation and reportedlyinterrupted numerous times— including calling out one question about how she and Bill met.
So, during aparticularly awkward clipfrom theCBS Sunday Morningsegment, journalist Tony Dokoupil asked Bill how he felt about all of the public interest in their relationship. Brushing it off, he replied: “I’ve never been too worried about what everyone else thinks. I just try to do what I feel like is best for me, and what’s right.”
Jordon and Bill’s unwillingness to discuss their first meeting has certainly raised a lot of questions, particularly in light of the fact that Jordon has previously corroboratedreportsthat they met on a flight inFebruary 2021. The awkward clip has gone incredibly viral thanks tovarious Xposts, with many commenting on the “odd” and “weird” dynamic.
However, that wasn’t the only question about the romance that was swerved. Later in the interview, Bill was asked about his presence onJordon’s Instagram page, and how the playful insight into their relationship, like photos of theirHalloween costumesor them doing beach yoga together, shows a “different side” to hisnotoriously seriouspersona. In response, the football coach seemed confused by the question. “Yeah, so I’m on some of those social media platforms,” he said, after seeking more clarity from Tony, “but I honestly don’t follow.”
Jordon has previouslydefended the relationshipand slammed criticism of her and Bill’s49-year age difference. And, despite what spectators may feel, it appears Bill is appreciative of her strong input in his professional and personal life, describing her in his new book as his “idea mill and creative muse.”
