potato chip and Joanna , I ’m good-for-naught we ’ve failed you .

We live in a poorly designed world, in more ways than one. Just like there seems to be no end in sight to the five-day workweek, architects, builders, and DIYers with a toolkit and a dream seem eternally hellbent on messing the heck out of buildings of all kinds. Without further ado, here’s my latest offering courtesy ofr/CrappyDesign.

There ’s also one fromr / Weirdfor proficient bill .

1.This would only be useful if the door openedawayfrom the kitchen so you could reach in for a snack:

2.Slip ‘N Slide your way home:

10.The fireplace is the only one enjoying the ocean view:

11.How on earth did they even get the stuff in there:

12.You better not need to go in the middle of the night:

13.What a beautiful tapestry:

14.This drawer that won’t open all the way if the oven is closed…

…and will TURN ON the gas range if it’s open:

15.The all too common flat-bottomed sink that won’t drain:

16.Bringing the comfort of the indoors outside:

17.And finally, a neverending lineup of doors that’s probably an interdimensional portal:

Modern kitchen with white cabinets, a coffee maker, electric kettle, and various bottles on the counter. A refrigerator with glass door is on the right

Rainwater covering a sidewalk, with trees lining the path. Overcast sky and wet conditions suggest recent rainfall

Restroom with toilet and water fountain right next to each other. Sign above toilet says not to pee on top of it

Large red valve on concrete slab near a leafy wall, possibly part of an irrigation or plumbing system

Large, asymmetrical gray house with large windows, next to a white picket fence and crosswalk

Carpeted laundry room floor with a drain in the middle

Kitchen with wooden cabinets. A stairwell opens in the middle of it, partially covered by a kitchen island

Small bathroom with toilet and sink. Arrow points to an electrical outlet in the shower

View from a car approaching a circular area laid with bricks in the middle of an intersection in a suburban commercial area

Pedestrian sign at a road. Small sign below reads: "Intersection NOT roundabout. Proceed as 4-way stop"

Two-story house in a coastal neighborhood with a large bay window, revealing a fireplace centered inside

A hand opens a kitchen cabinet door, revealing dishes and utensils inside. The bottom of a staircase blocks door from opening more than 45 degrees

Bathroom with hexagonal marble-patterned tiles. Two steps lead to an elevated area with shower and toilet, which is tucked right next to the steps

Four-story modern apartment building with several mismatched windows of different heights, widths, and number of panels

Kitchen drawer slightly open, blocked from opening further by oven handle

Oven is open, allowing drawer to open, but it hits and turns a knob for the gas range

Modern bathroom with a square-shaped sink with a flat bottom. Water sits at the bottom without draining

A house with a broken window blind meant for the interior hanging unevenly

Partially constructed hallway with several unfinished doorways and open doors that all line up
